Records for the metropolitan boroughs of London and the official records of the City of London Corporation are held at the London Metropolitan Archives - see below for contact details. Although the London Metropolitan Archives is the principal archive service for the Greater London area, most metropolitan boroughs also maintain their own archive service at their local studies centre . Records can also be found at the county record office for the historical county within which the borough (or part of it) was previously situated
